This poster was developed as the introduction to our topic of language. We conducted visual research before completing the literature review.
Within the topic of language, we identified four main areas: literacy, education, society and culture. We kept it broad in order to get a full picture of what language is about. We used the poster as visual prompts for spurring our research for the literature review.
The metaphor of the tree represents the sprawling nature of language, and how it grows and develops. It also references the idea of a ‘language tree, which usually documents the history and development of a language or languages.
